Friday Enrichment

Friday Afternoon Projects take place every Friday afternoon and allow all the children from EYFS to Year 6 to participate in a range of learning opportunities with both external experts as well as school staff (while the teachers have their planning, preparation and assessment time).

The children must always be able to explain their learning and we expect the highest standards of behaviour and work. When they go back to class before dismissal at the end of the day, they have a chance to tell their classmates about their project and their learning.

The groups are sometimes run for the whole school age range and sometimes just for a smaller range depending on the learning aims e.g. our external group PACES have children from all years as our Year 6 pupils work as fantastic sport leaders for the younger children while our Spanish class is just for Years 2 – 4 for the lessons to be tailored for the right ability and learning progression.

We have a range of enrichment activities including forest school, debating, construction and Spanish. The children get to swap every half term to ensure they have a range of opportunities.

All external providers and volunteers have completed a DBS check and meet all requirements for our safeguarding.

An exciting end to the working week with a clear focus and purpose and high expectations of outcomes.
