Lugwardine recognises the benefits derived from investing in people and we strive to ensure staff have access to a wide variety of benefits and wellbeing resources.

We have a staff wellbeing action group who meeting regularly to ensure staff have the right wellbeing help. The group is made up of the business manager, two teachers, a teaching assistant and a governor.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental health first aid is an extension of the concept of traditional first aid to cover mental health conditions.

Here at Lugwardine we work with MHFA England where we have had 5 staff members trained as Mental Health First Aiders.

These staff are trained to recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention. They can encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and practise active listening and empathy.
