Frequently asked Questions

Afterschool Clubs

There will be no clubs run by class teachers for the first half term. There may be some run by external agencies but these are yet to be confirmed.

Gateway will pick up as usual.

School Bags

Please ensure all bags (in terms of size and content) are kept to a minimum. This will ensure the least amount of items are being transferred to and from school.

For EYFS and KS1 the pupils must have book bags and not back packs.

Pencil Cases

Following on from our newsletter n.32 (3rd July 2020) we request that all pupils (Year 2 up) bring their own plastic, wipe-able pencil case complete with the all of stationery items they may need. This will then be kept in school.

P.E. Kit

Pupils will be requested to wear their P.E. kit for the whole day on the day they do their P.E. lesson. Therefore they will require shorts and t-shirt as well as jogging bottoms and sweatshirts.

Please note there will be no formal P.E. lessons for the first two weeks and you will be informed of the timetable in due course.

Lunches

Your children can either bring in their own packed lunch or you can order lunch through Smart Money. Please note, for the first half term there will be no hot lunches. You will be able to order a cold packed lunch instead.

All classes will have their lunch within their bubbles which will be in their classrooms or outside, as the hall will not be used for lunches.

Breakfast Club

We will be offering breakfast club from Wednesday 2nd September from 7:45 for all pupils. The cost of breakfast club will increase to £3.00 per pupil.

Pre booking will be essential for breakfast club and you are encouraged to book on as soon as possible. All bookings for the first half term will be live on Smart Money from today.

Contacting the School

As previously mentioned parents will not be allowed on site for the time being. Therefore to contact the school please use the school email address or phone number. A member of staff will endeavour to reply as soon as possible.

Attendance and Holidays

From the beginning of the autumn term the usual rules on school attendance will apply. Considering how much schooling the children have already missed we are asking that you do not make requests for absence to enable us to make the most of being back at school. We understand that missing holidays this year has been very disappointing for us all, but additional time off will only be permitted for exceptional circumstances.

Temperature Checks

Using a non-invasive thermometer which points to the forehead and does not contact the skin. Although this is not deemed necessary, we feel that it can give us an early indication of potential illnesses and therefore hopefully minimise the chance of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
